Genesis
In the Beginning
Our Bible starts with all of God's Creation. It gives account of the 6 days of God's work in Creating. He shares the importance of the seventh day's rest. It also shares of the introduction of sin through disobedience and the sinful nature of man. It also points to God's plan of redemption with us and His continuous love. Genesis 1-5
The Fall
God creates man to tend the garden and then creates Eve as his helper and partner. They were in a prefect relationship with God until disobedience separated them from Him. Their prideful search for knowledge got them removed from the garden and separated from God.

The Flood
After man's continuous sin and rebellion, God chose to send a worldwide flood to remove all life except Noah. his family, and two of all kinds of animals. He had Noah put them in an ark God instructed him to build. The rain fell for forty days and forty nights until all life was extinguished. Genesis 6-9

Bondage in Egypt
God's chosen Israelites had become slaves to the Egyptians and Moses was called by God through the burning bush to go and warn Pharaoh of their release or suffer many plagues. Refusal By Pharaoh brought death to their firstborns. This is known as the Passover and just as the blood of the Lamb has liberated the Israelites from bondage of Pharaoh, The blood of the Lamb (Jesus) , has liberated us from sin and death.

Bondage in Egypt
While leaving Egypt, Moses and the Israelites were trapped at the Red Sea with Pharaoh and his men right behind them. God through Moses parted the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to pass through on dry ground. The Egytptians try to follow in an attempt to capture them but the waters resided, engulfing the Egyptians. Recent dives have uncovered chariots at the bottom of the Sea.

While travelling in the desert. The Israelites complained of thirst and were angry with Moses. Moses asked God to provide the people water. So God instructed Moses to take the elders and to strike the rock with his staff. when he did, water came out.

Numbers begins with the first census and laws but shifts towards God's grace and mercy . It is the story of the Israelites in the desert for forty years and how God preserves the next generation into the promised land after a generation of rebellion against Him.

As Moses wrote about the rebellion of the generation of Israelites, Jesus later characterizes the generation As "wicked and adulterous".(Matthew 12:39) and just as in Numbers, God's grace reaches out to the following generation.
Deuteronomy
A New Beginning
After forty years in the wilderness, The people arrive in the Promised Land. A new relationship between God and man is established.
The Speech
After they settle in the new land. Moses speaks of the Laws of the Land and the challenge to find their identity and purpose in their covenant with God. Finally, Deuteronomy closes with the farewell and death of Moses
